Murat Abi’s 2023 Message – WELCOME, 2023

We have once again come to the end of a year…
How much we have lived through, and once again how quickly the end of the year has arrived…

During New Year’s time, a sweet flutter is felt inside a person; New Year plans are made, annual goals are written down, streets are decorated, malls, the surroundings, and everything inside us become lively and full of energy…

And if, on top of that, you have fulfilled your year-end responsibilities;
if you have made the shopkeepers around you happy,
if you have made your family happy,
if you have made the children in your neighborhood happy,
if you have made your employees happy,
if you have made millions of ByNoGamers happy,
if you have been able to feel those millions of hearts…
Then you are happy. Then you are a leader.
Otherwise, what importance do titles really have?

Eighteen years ago, I was cutting iron in a metal workshop. One year before that, I was teaching at a computer course. One year before that, I was a mechanic in a repair shop.
In our childhood, my brother and I sold water at the market and weighed people on a scale…

We only chased after hard work and tried to make people happy. We even committed a small cheat for this cause! Yes, we did!

On a cold New Year’s night, my brother and I were waiting in front of the scale in Karşıyaka Bazaar.
We would put our hands into our pockets only to keep them warm, and the moment we saw a customer, we would straighten up and immediately take our hands out of our pockets.
Everyone in the bazaar was very rushed; they walked quickly and did not notice us. Sometimes they would even jump over our scale and pass by. In this way, we could barely weigh one or two people at most. Just waiting like that was not going to work. We took the scale and went into the streets. We entered a clothing shop:

— Hello, would you like to be weighed? Only five kuruş.

Two little boys, one seven years old and the other five, with coal-black eyes… Because I was smaller and cuter, I was the one asking the question. There were three young women in the shop. The prettiest one stroked my head and we earned fifteen kuruş. They too were waiting for customers in their shop. People liked it; we had brought the service to their feet. It worked.

When one of the women stepped onto the scale, she became upset, and then a man did as well. We understood the reason. After that, when a skinny man came, we moved the calibration adjustment next to the scale slightly forward; when a woman came, we moved it slightly back. ;)

Childhood ended and in our working lives we never cheated again; we only made people happy.

Wealth is earning people’s trust.
